Wells College closing
After years of financial ills and declining enrollment, Wells College in Aurora, NY, has decided to close at the end of the current semester.
Its move was announced on Monday, in a letter by the college president and chairman, who said revenues “are not projected to be sufficient for Wells’ long-term financial stability.”
Manhattanville University is working with Wells officials to help with transfer plans. Wells is also collaborating with Excelsior University, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Keuka College, Le Moyne College, Mercy University, and SUNY Brockport.
