Scott makes whopping contribution to Habitat for Humanity

MacKenzie Scott, ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has pledged $436 million to Habitat for Humanity International and 84 of its U.S. affiliates.

The Associated Press reports that Scott’s donation equals almost 8% of the $325 million in donations that Habitat for Humanity International received in its 2020 fiscal year.

Jonathan Reckford, the organization’s CEO, said the funds will be used  to increase the supply of affordable housing, especially in communities of color.
