Otsego community foundation raises $2M+

The Community Foundation of Otsego County reports that it has exceeded its Founders Campaign goal of $2 million.

The foundation launched in 2019, creating a COVID Relief and Recovery Fund the following year. This effort, which provided relief to food insecurity, housing, transportation, health issues and small business support, drew so much support that organizers decided to expand their fundraising efforts.

A second round of grants has included funding for after-school childcare, the performing arts, food deserts and beginner farmer training, transportation to medical services, and encouraging the creation of a film industry.
