Erie County announces renewal plan

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has unveiled an $89.2 million economic stimulus package, to be funded through the federal American Rescue Plan.

Poloncarz said the spending, combined with an additional $35.8 million in restored state aid. would go to Reinvest in Erie’s Neighborhoods and Employ our Workforce (RENEW).

Plans include capital improvements at SUNY Erie City Campus and other sites, support for civic organizations such as the Botanical Gardens, business promotion, and improvements to city parks.
