Dansville balloon festival cancelled

The New York State Balloon Festival. an popular event annually in Dansville every Labor Day for the past 41 years, has been called off.

“Due to the continued decline of volunteer staffing and the financial environment, we feel this is a necessary decision,” the organizers said in a Nov. 28 statement posted on their web site. “We appreciate the volunteer assistance given to us over the years, and the support of the businesses, community, and organizations.”
