Steuben County > Hornell
The trains arrived in Hornell in the 1850s, with the city eventually becoming the site of the Erie line’s major maintenance facility. The repair shops, once the community’s major employer, closed in 1976. The city’s railroad history is commemorated in the Hornell Erie Depot Museum.
