Gloversville received a $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) grant from the state in 2022. Projects funded by the award, all completed in 2025, included renovation of Schine Memorial Hall; activation of St. Thomas Square; enhancement of public amenities at Trail Station Park; and creation of a downtown piazza. Funds were also applied to 75 units of mixed-income housing at Glove City Lofts.
