Seneca County > Ovid
Fire destroyed much of Ovid’s Main Street in January 2025. The community lost a grocery store, an Italian restaurant, a diner, a laundromat and the local office of STEPS (Seneca Towns Engaging People for Solutions). Sixteen people lost their homes. The VFW, the Ovid Federated Church and other area nonprofits organized relief efforts and fundraisers. Local banks also contributed.
