Finally, a free, searchable list of grants in Upstate New York!
A baseball exhibit in Cooperstown. A bookmobile in Poughkeepsie. Thanksgiving dinner at a church in Olean. A spiedie festival in Binghamton. Telehealth in Glens Falls. A youth barn dance in Andes. After-school clubs in Mechanicville. Housing for runaway and homeless children in Syracuse.
Charitable giving helps communities pay for countless events and services. Community foundations, United Ways, state and local government, and family funders support emergency programs, education, job training, Boys and Girls Clubs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, fire departments and public libraries.
Yet finding grantors who care about your issues and your community can be a challenge. Particularly in New York, where Downstate regularly hogs the limelight.
Which is why we launched Upstate Giving.
By scouring thousands of tax returns, foundation web sites and government databases, we’ve compiled a massive list of awards and indexed them by location. You can easily find grants by place and also see funding received by organizations similar to yours.
Start by selecting a county from our counties page. Then choose a community. For larger cities with many grants, we organize funding by area of interest, such as youth or the arts.
There are several ways to focus your research:
- Visit our counties page and choose the county you’re interested in.
- Click on a county in the map above.
- Use the search box that appears at the top right of every page. Search examines full text and will return every page that includes your query.
